Arbor Day
Wilmore recognizes Arbor Day each year by having a celebration at which one or more trees are planted, often with children participating.
In addition to planting the trees, the festivities have included the Arbor Day Proclamation read by the Mayor, special dedications, music
and encouraging the children to celebrate Arbor Day at home by distributing seedlings to plant with their families.
In 2011, Arbor Day/May Day Celebration will be at Downtown Green, Wilmore, on Sunday, May 1 from 1:30-3:30 P.M.
There will be a performance by the Wilmore Christian School of Ballet, music by the Advocate Band from Danville, exhibits and children's activities.
Everyone is welcome. In case of rain, the Advocate Band will perform at the campground in Wilmore.
The event is sponsored by the Wilmore Community Development Board. For more information contact 858-9983.
