2012 RECYCLING SCHEDULE

RECYCLING IS PICKED UP EVERY OTHER WEEK!

The town is divided into sections,
just like the garbage routes.

DO’S DON’TS
   

Newspaper, Magazines & Catalogs
- Separate the newspapers from the stapled  magazines and catalogs; put in the top tray.
- Phone books can be included 

Do not include:
Computer paper, notebook paper, stationery, junk mail, envelopes, glossy paper, shredded paper,
general office paper.

Aluminum, Steel & Tin Cans
- Empty contents
- Rinse out food cans
- Labels may remain on cans
- Discard all detached lids in garbage
- Put in left, rear bin

Do not include:
- Aluminum foil
- Cans made of cardboard
- Aerosol cans
- Paint cans
- Household or yard chemical cans

Glass
- Recycle clear, brown & glass
- Discard all lids in garbage
- Rinse all containers
- Do NOT break containers
- Put in left, front bin

Do not include:
- Ceramics or broken dishes
- Pyrex-type glass
- Mirrors
- Window glass
- Light bulbs

2-Liter Bottles & “1” or “2” Plastics
- Recycle only 16 oz., 1-liter or 2-liter soda, juice or water bottles; crush if possible.
- Only recycle plastic with a “1” or “2” inside the triangle recycling logo stamped on the bottom of the bottle
- Rinse all containers
- Put in large bin on right

Do not include:
- Any plastic with a “3” – “8” inside
the triangle recycling logo stamped on the bottom of the bottle
- Lids
- Plastic bags or plastic wrap
- Food containers
- Chemical or motor oil containers

Milk & Water Jugs
- Discard all lids in garbage
- Rinse all containers
- Put in “mesh” bag and hang on front

Do not include:
- Any plastic except the standard
“clear”, “frosted”, or “white” milk
jug/water jug containers


Cardboard
- Recycle brown corrugated cardboard, food boxes with “brown insides” ONLY!
- Place at curb beside recycling container

Do not include:
Food packaging with “white insides”;
Frozen packaging; “white” gift boxes;
“slick” cardboard boxes
